The Oprah Effect: Rochelle Behrens, creator of “The Shirt” discusses business before and after the Oprah show

Rochelle BehrensAlmost every woman entrepreneur has probably dreamt of landing a spot on The Oprah Show. Rochelle Behrens' dream came true just in the nick of time. Her creation, “The Shirt,” was featured as “the must have shirt of the year” on Oprah’s January 13, 2011 show — just 8 months before the sun sets forever on that possibility since Oprah is ending her storied talk show in September 2011 after 25 years on the air.
Some might say Rochelle is one lucky gal; but she took very specific actions that led to the Oprah mother lode. For one, she envisioned her shirt on the show and boldly shared her vision with anyone who would listen. Eventually, her faith and vision attracted the opportunity to make good on her dream.
One evening at a cocktail party she was sharing her wish to be on Oprah and the person she was chatting with just happened to know someone who worked there. Rochelle got the Oprah employee's information and from that point she took decisive action and sent her shirt to the show. Producers called her within 24 hours. The rest, as they say, is history. Rochelle's life and business will never be the same.
On this edition of The Ms. CEO Radio Show, Rochelle talks about the “Oprah effect,” and describes her business before the show, afterward, and in the days and weeks leading up to her big break!
